180 "Graduates" and Next Year

It's amazing to think that we are approaching the end of this ground-breaking journey! Let's start to brainstorm about what might be our "Next Steps" for you all who are about to become Alumni of the 180 Leadership Program.

In an ideal world, and possibly in the not-too-distant future, we'll have a 180 version 2.0 for you all to take as a class, but until we clear the administrative hurdles, here are a few of my thoughts. Please chime in with your own ideas & visions!

-We form a 180 Club that can meet during smart lunch and/or after school. This group could be open to both class grads and people who just want to work on some of our projects. This group could continue the projects and initiatives we've started this year, continue to collaborate through the wiki with any new students/schools who join, and act as a resource for being student presenters at events like our Magnet Open House and leading assorted tours.

-the 180 Grads pair up with the BullDog Mentors

-The 180 Grads get assigned an AC who does not have a BullDog Mentor and work with that academic coach to plan assorted activities and lessons for the Wednesday sessions of AC

-The 180 Grads get paired up with volunteer teachers in the school to meet with them on a regular basis to look at ways to "spice up" the instructional practices in that classroom, based on what we've learned about communication, perspective, learning styles, reflection, organization, etc.

-The 180 Grads act as regular or occasional student teachers in new 180 classes, working with the facilitators to help teach the 180 program

-The 180 Grads are each assigned to a different curriculum department or PLC in the school and attend meetings and participate in planning to help teachers incorporate some of the lessons from 180 into each subject area

Other thoughts? Other ideas? Go!

i also agree with this proposal.
-i think we should have a club to fully benefit the next group of 180 participants and so we we have the opportunity to complete any unfinished projects and we could still be apart of the 180 program.

I like the club idea. I would like it if we could continue our committee work that we have already started. We are just now starting to have some progress with them.
I wouldnt want to pair up with bulldog mentors. We should have our own "identity"
