21. RE: T-shirts, anyone?!

I think it's important that we have at least on "official" shirt so we can be a unified presence when we represent 180 at different events. Even if we have a common logo/color, we won't all look like we're on the same team otherwise.Once we get a design and our "base" shirt, people could, on their own and out of their own pockets, order it in variations if they wanted sweatshirts, long sleeves, etc. Oh, and I'd suggest the basic shirt be short sleeved. It's cold right now, but about 75% of our time here in Raleigh it's warm, and we can always had a long sleeve layer under a short sleeve basic. Do you find this valuable? |

I agree on the official shirt idea if we can find a consensus. That's part of the problem. I personally say that if we cannot choose one style by early next week (maybe 2/3?), that we need to consider multiple choices so we can actually get shirts before spring break. I am also forwarding the latest e-mail from Ms. Bradsher about the style of shirt that first chatted about. I'd like my 4th period team's tee-shirt committee to look at all of this and reply to this thread with their thought. --------------------- forwarded--- To view the jersey knit polo I priced, go to www.catalogsportswear.com On the homepage, where you see "quick search", type 4680 and click "search"; It will pull up the ladies Anvil jersey knit shirt I priced for screening. On that page you will see "colors": view chart or in gallery; if you will select "in gallery", it will download a page showing the shirts in each color offered; to view the men's version, type A4600 in the quick search blank, and repeat the same process. This shirt is not upscale, but if you want to screen a shirt and keep the price affordable, it's not a bad choice. It's a 50/50 blend, so it will be thin; I don’t know what color you want, but if you choose white, the girls may need to wear a cami underneath to prevent seeing their bra. Choosing a dark color would not pose that challenge, of course. I am just trying to be as forthright as I possibly can, since you can't see the product "in person". If we screen something on the back, one color, it will add $2.50 to the price, at the 24-48 volume; it will add $1.50 to the price, at the 49+ volume. Let me know if any other questions arise in the meeting, today, and I will be glad to address them, thanks! Kathy Bradsher Do you find this valuable? |

I guess since the shirts are being paid for by the school, I'm seeing them as a "team supply" item rather than a personal souvenir. The t-shirt committee shoudl make a selection that takes all the suggestions into account, then just make an executive decision and present it to us all. If folks are getting a free shirt, they may have to concede some of the choice in the design items and customization for the sake of unity!

I agree we need to make a decision but I'm hoping it can be one the teams consider a souvenir and not just a team supply. Let's think win-win!The 4th period tee shirt committee would like to suggest their 1st choice and then hear the 1st period's 1st choice if it is different. Then, hopefully, the two groups can find common ground. Perhaps, there could be some discussion in the 2503 between the two groups about it Thursday night. 4th period's 1st choice is a Hunter Green short sleeved collared shirt with the logo embroidery on the right. We've uploaded the men and women's styles to an album at http://180degrees.wetpaint.com/album/81038/Tee+Shirt+Ideas. Please remember that the picture's tee shirt is white or blue but we suggest a Hunter Green. Could the 1st period tee shirt committee go online and choose a different style if you disagree? 4th period team also like the idea of a silk screen logo on front and a quote on the back but the style/fabric they liked didn't allow it. See the thread above for details and respond. THANKS!!! Do you find this valuable? |

The color of the polo (as shown by the vizu poll) will be navy blue. We now have to decide on a logo, and then we'll be set!

Okay, so we have a vote on color and we know the polo style and pricing--- what do we need to do to get action moving on this item? Was there consensus yet over a design? Talk to each other out there and let's get a purchase order so we can have the shirts before the course is over :-)
