Ground Rules
Ground rules are a general list of "rules" that the class has come up with. Because this class is more student-led that other classes, we also took it upon ourselves to make our own rules for ourselves, instead of accepting the normal "school rules" that other classes adopt.

  • Respect people's thoughts and ideas
    • Keep in mind that different people have different opinions and views on life.
  • Keep an open mind
    • Accept and consider what other people believe and say.
    • Be ready to challenge what and how you look at yourself and the world.
  • One speaker
    • Listen to what is being said, and don't interrupt.
  • Respect people's privacy
    • We all have things we wouldn't want everyone else to know.
    • What happens in 180 stays in 180
  • Be responsible and willing to work
    • The class will accomplish little if we aren't all giving 100%.
Values

After writing individually, discussing in small groups, then sharing together, our group has decided by consensus that the following values are most important to us as a class as we go forward in the 180 Program:

  • Respect
  • Responsibility
  • Learning
  • Honesty & Integrity
  • Success

Other values that did not receive as high ranking but were still identified as important to us include:
  • Peace
  • Courage
  • Love
  • Compassion
  • Trustworthiness
  • Adventure
  • Security
  • Spirituality
  • Independence
  • Appearance
  • Charity
  • Human Life
